What I do
Linux kernel I maintain rc-core, including the rc drivers, decoders and lirc chardev interface. I know what it takes to get code upstreamed; I work both as a maintainer myself, work with other maintainers, and get my own patches approved by other maintainers.
BPF. I wrote BPF_PROG_TYPE_LIRC_MODE2, which means working on BPF internals rather than writing just BPF programs that use it. Also I worked at Solana (and later Anza) that uses a BPF variant for their VM.
Compilers. I created Hyperledger Solang, which uses LLVM as a library for the backend and linking. Solang is a complete compiler end-to-end for Solidity on Polkadot and Solana for the Solidity language, written almost exclusively in Rust. So I can create a new language that compiles to optimized BPF code.
Virtual Machines. At Solana and later Anza, I worked on the Solana Virtual Machine, optimizing it and ensuring correctness.
What I’m looking for
I’m in the UK (in London) and work remotely. I’m interested in kernel roles, BPF, media, SoC enablement, compilers, and virtual machines.
I can do (sub)contracting work for upstreaming work. If you have drivers that need upstreaming to mainline, that’s the work I’ve been doing for free for more than a decade.
